Dickerson Sr., Vernie Lee

Vernie Lee Dickerson Sr., 77, of the Poplar Hill Community, Pearisburg, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at his home. He was born on November 15, 1936 at Pilot, the son of the late Otho Harmon Dickerson and Reba Kula Underwood Dickerson. Also predeceased by a brother, Walter G. Dickerson; sisters, Pauline LaMar and Juanita Simms. Vernie was a United States Veteran of the Army. He is survived by his wife, Jean F. Dickerson; two sons, Junior Dickerson, Pearisburg, Danny (Jennifer) Dickerson, Kingsport, Tenn.; one daughter, Jennifer Robinson (Alvin Mullins), Sevierville, Tenn.; one brother, Larry (Kaye) Dickerson; five grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Friday, December 20, 2013 at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home, White Gate, from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will immediately follow at 7 p.m. with the Rev. Winfred Keene officiating. Graveside service will be Saturday at 11 a.m. at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.
