DICKERSON, James Ervin

James Ervin Dickerson, 81, of Floyd, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, January 24, 2006.

James had been a longtime member of Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren.

He is survived by three sisters, Essie and husband, Branard Goad, Henry, Va., Rosie Akers, Floyd, Va., and Lula Reed, Bassett, Va.; one brother, Roy Dickerson, Willis, Va. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, January 27, 2006, at Beaver Creek Church of the Brethren with the Rev. Richard Thomas officiating. Interment will follow in Beaver Creek Cemetery. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Thursday at Gardner Funeral Home where the family will be from 5 to 7 p.m.

The family would like to thank Skyline Manor Nursing Home and Hospice for their special care and kindness. Arrangements are being handled by Gardner Funeral Home, Floyd.
