Dewitt, Rosalee Grubb

Rosalee Grubb DeWitt, 93, of Pulaski, died Thursday evening, December 3, 2009, at her daughters residence in Richmond. She was born September 27, 1916, in Pulaski, and was the daughter of the late Lewis Henley Grubb and Josephine Johnson Grubb.

She was a member of the Thornspring United Methodist Church, was a Past Worthy Matron with the former Order of the Eastern Star Pulaski Chapter 113, was a long-time volunteer for Pulaski Community Hospital, was formerly active with the Girl Scouts, was a charter member of the Sunset Hills Garden Club, and was active in the Virginia Extension Homemakers Club.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Berley Grubb, Roscoe Grubb, Bayne Grubb, Ted Grubb, Gene Grubb, John Grubb, and Phillip Grubb; her sisters, Mary King, Grace King, Beulah Williams, and Bess Grubb. She is survived by her devoted husband of 66 years, James R. DeWitt; and her daughter, Suellen DeWitt, of Richmond. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, December 6, 2009, at 2 p.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. Steve McMurry officiating. Entombment will be held in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. The family will receive friends Sunday at the funeral home from 1 to 2 p.m. service time.
