Nora Sue “Susie” Flinchum Davis Delancey, age 87 of Pinellas Park, FL (formerly of Collinsville, Va) went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Palm Gardens in Largo, Fl. She was born to the late Charles William and Hettie Burke Flinchum on January 24, 1928.

Sue was strong in her Baptist faith and faithfully active in her church until her health prevented attendance. She instilled her strong faith and values to each generation. Sue, or “Nanny” as affectionately called by her family, loved good food and socializing, speaking about her family with great pride. Her laugh could light up a room, and her country charm soothing all situations. Generous almost to fault, she never met a soul she could not minister too, or a candy she did not like. Her passion for embroidery continued even as her health failed, yet she was able to help make quilts for 4 of her great-grandchildren.

Sue was preceded in death by her husband Marshall E. Davis of 31 years, her 2nd husband Eslie W. DeLancey of 9 years, her brother, William “Bud” Flinchum of Blacksburg, Va, her sisters, Alene Hale, Nellie “Tea” Flinchum Bishop, both of Blacksburg, Va, Helen Flinchum Osborne, of W. Va, Ethel Hylton of Radford, Va, and Mildred Flinchum Martin of Durham, NC.

Sue is survived by her daughters, Patricia Sue Davis Gauldin (Timothy) of Pinellas Park, Fl and Sandra Ann Davis Barrow (Adrian) of Jacksonville, Fl, 4 grandchildren Richard L. Gauldin (Stephanie) of St. Petersburg, Fl, and T. Wayne Gauldin (Crystal) North Ridgeville OH, J. Todd Barrow (Connie), Marsha Barrow Moor (Andy) both of Jacksonville, Fl and 12 great grandchildren – Alexander Marshall , Hunter Lynn , Morgan Elizabeth, and Delaney Nicole Gauldin; Amelia Rose and Noah Thomas Gauldin; Bela Morales, Abigail Marie and Piper Addison Barrow, Faith Adriana, Hope Andraya, and Grace Analise Moor and another great-grandson Jeremiah Andrew Moor to be born in August 2015.

Graveside services will be held at 11 A.M. on Monday, June 1, 2015 in the Dowdy Family Cemetery in Blacksburg, Va.
