dehart_blanche_duncanBlanche Duncan DeHart, 87, of Radford, Va., went home to the Lord on Monday, December 28, 2009. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 61 years, Harry I. DeHart; and four infant sons. She was also preceded by her parents, Lonnie R. and Lily Whitt Duncan; and three brothers, Oather Duncan, Guy R. Duncan, and Lonnie R. Duncan Jr.

She is survived by three devoted daughters and their husbands, Deborah and Stephen Ingram, of Christiansburg, Va., Karen and John Corn, of Jefferson City, Tenn., and Linda and Donald Wilson, of Raleigh, N.C. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jennifer Ingram Chisam and husband, Scott, of Johnson City, Tenn., Stephanie Ingram Smothermon and husband, Daniel, of Clarksville, Tenn., Jonathan Ingram and wife, Christy, of Max Meadows, Va., Amanda Corn Bostic and husband, Randy, of Nashville, Tenn., Ben Corn, of Nashville, Tenn., and Abby Wilson and Emily Wilson, both of Raleigh, N.C.; and five greatgrandchildren, Luke and Caleb Smothermon, of Clarksville, Tenn., Jessica Ingram, of Max Meadows, Va., Eva Wilson, of Raleigh, N.C., and Reid Bostic, of Nashville, Tenn. She is also survived by two dear sisters in-law, Geneva Duncan and Janet Duncan, both of Radford; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and will be greatly missed by her family and many others who affectionately knew her as “Granny Blanche.”

She will also be greatly missed by her family at the Radford Church of Christ where she was a charter member and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She was known in Radford as a long-time employee of First and Merchants National Bank and Crestar Bank. She retired after 39 years as an assistant vice president of the bank. One of her great joys was the continued association with the retired “bank ladies.” She and her family were greatly blessed by the care and assistance provided her by Human Touch, Wheatland of Christiansburg, and Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

The family will receive friends at the Radford Church of Christ on Wednesday, December 30, 2009, from 4 to 6 p.m. A celebration of her life will be held at the church building 10:30 a.m. on Thursday morning, December 31, 2009.
