Dudley, Opal Reed

Opal Reed Dudley, 89, of Radford, Va., passed away on Monday, July 6, 2009. She was preceded in death by her parents, B.J. and Mae Dulaney Reed; husband, Vaughan Dudley; a son, Michael Dudley; and two grandchildren, Mark and David Dudley. Survivors include her three sons and daughters-in-law, Donald and Lois Dudley, of Radford, Larry and Barbara Dudley, of Roanoke, and J.C. and Nanci Dudley, of Christiansburg; daughter and son-in-law, Patsy and Gary Sparks, of Radford; 10 grandchildren; eight greatgrandchildren; two brothers and sister-in-law, Denver and Pat Reed, of North Carolina, and C.A. and Fay Reed, of Florida; two sisters, Orpha Lawrence, of Vinton, and Basil Hancock ,of New Castle; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2009, at the Belview United Methodist Church in Radford with the Rev. Sebert Rorrer and the Rev. Aaron Fitch officiating. Interment will follow in the Sunrise Burial Park in Radford. The family would like to give a special thanks to the staff at Radford Nursing and Rehab. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2009, at the church.
