Ella Mae Day, 72, of Ripplemead, departed this life on Monday evening, March 4, 2013, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va. Born in West Virginia on September 30, 1940, she was a daughter of the late Charles Taylor and Annie Kate Lucas Manning. She was a 1958 graduate of Pembroke High School and had been employed at Hubble Lighting in Christiansburg. She was a Christian, raised in the nurture of the Olean Church of The Brethren at Goldbond and currently was a member of Riverview Baptist Church in Ripplemead. Ella Mae was preceded in death by her brothers, Dewey and Charles Jr. Manning; her sisters, Helen Osborne, Cardella Brown, Sarah Pippin, and Virgie Snider; and her nephews, Brian and Steve Manning. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved husband of 53 years, Dewey E. Day; her sons, Jeff Day, of Ripplemead, and Kevin Day and his wife, Brenda, of Ripplemead; his daughter and son-in-law, Jeanette and Kevin Martin, of Ripplemead; her grandchildren, Ashley Day Wills (Jon), Amber Martin, Cory Martin, Josh Day, Zane T. Martin, Zoie Day, and Amber Day; her three great- granddaughters, Madisyn Wills, Jemma Atwood, and Sadie Wills; and beloved nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Graveside Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday morning, March 7, 2013, at Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating.
