William Curtis Davis, 72, of Blacksburg died Friday, Dec. 29, 2006, at his home.

He was born in Blacksburg on August 4, 1934 to the late Paul David and Mae Barnett Davis. He was a lifelong member of the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church. He was retired from VT Electric Service after 37 years of service.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Evelyn C. Davis, of Blacksburg; daughter, Anna Davis, of Blacksburg; sons and daughters-in-law, William C., Jr., and Terry Davis, of Giles Co., Darrell and Carolyn Davis, of Blacksburg; grandchildren, Ashley Davis, Derek Davis, Paul Curtis Davis and wife, Summer; great-grandchild, Caden Davis; sister, Mary Walton; brother and sister-in-law, Paul D. Davis, Jr. and wife, Irene, of Christiansburg; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 31, 2006 at 2 p.m. in the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church with the Rev. John Hopkins officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg First Wesleyan Church, 1406 Giles Road, Blacksburg, Va 24060. Friends may call anytime after 12 noon Saturday, and the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, Blacksburg.
