Davis, Virginia Craig

Virginia Craig Davis, 93, of Chesapeake, formerly of Blacksburg, passed away May 3, 2006 in Chesapeake. She was born July 10, 1912 in Montgomery County, Va. to Joseph and Melvina Craig.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her loving husband, Penn Davis; her son-in-law, Thomas Shaver; and three sisters and one brother. She was a longtime member of Gateway Baptist Church in Blacksburg, Va.

Mourning her loss are three daughters, their children and grandchildren, Lois and Ken McPherson and their children, Jesse and Kristin McPherson and Gary and Donna McPherson, Barbara Shaver and her son, Brad Shaver, Judy and Mark Kitts and their children, Kim and Cliff Smith, Greg and Suzanne Kitts, and Susie and Steve Michadick; and her 13 great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, May 7, 2006 at 2 p.m. at Gateway Baptist Church, Blacksburg, Va. with the Rev. Dewey Weaver and Pastor Greg Kitts officiating. The family will receive friends at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive, S.W., Blacksburg, Va.
