Davis, Roy Clem

Roy Clem Davis, age 76, of Elliston died Wednesday, December 7, 2016 at the VA Medical Center Salem. He was born in Montgomery County, Va. on May 29, 1940 to the late Edward Ribble and Gillie Hughes Davis.

He was also preceded in death by a daughter, Debbie Shepherd, a son Roy Dean Davis, a granddaughter, Jessica Vaught, brothers and sistersTootsie Southern, Dorothy Dowdy, Willard Davis, Alice Tiller, and Jay Davis.

He was a veteran of the U.S. Army. Roy was an avid hunter and gardner.

He is survived by his daughters and son-in-law, Sue and Tommy Main, Tonya Jones and fiance, Michael Linkous, Alicia Jones; son, Mark Jones; the mother of his children, Betty Jones; sisters, Shirley Dove, and Brenda Author; brothers, Edward Ribble “Bill” Davis, and Charles P. “Snake” Davis and wife, Gene; grandchildren, Amber Vaught and fiance, Chris Johnson, Dale Vaught, Jr. and wife, Sara, Hunter Davis; great-grandchildren, Deborah Vaught, Zach Leggett, Olivia Vaught; special nephew, Jeff Davis, close friends, Mike and Carol Linkous, and Tina Gremshaw.

Private services will be held. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
