Davis, Roger Clayton

Roger Clayton Davis, age 66, from Pearisburg, VA, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 6, 2017. He was born in Richlands, VA on May 22, 1951 and lived in Pearisburg all of his life. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Patsy Sutherland Davis, his beloved son, Travis Clayton Davis, and his nephew Jeremy Barna.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted daughter, Angie Davis (husband Dean) of Pearisburg, VA, his father Hubert Clayton Davis of Narrows, VA; his two brothers, Steve Davis and John Davis (Stephanie) of Narrows; his two sisters, Rebecca Davis Barna Smith (Gary) of Waterford, CT, and Beth Davis Ellis (Jimmy) of Narrows; his six grandchildren, Skyler, Cameron, Brennen, Zoe, Emmalin, and Adalee; and several special aunts, uncles, nephews and nieces. Also, two special friends, Walter “Bucky” Havens and Roger “Razor” Runions. A special thanks to Dr. Melton and all caregivers along the way.

A 1969 graduate of Giles High School, Roger loved to hunt and fish, fast cars and big trucks and was well- known throughout Giles County where he worked at several gas stations. He loved drag racing and used to run his corvette at Cedar Bluff in his younger years. For the past several years he has been ill with stomach problems and mainly stayed at home with his faithful dog, Savage. Roger will be sadly missed by his family and many friends who will always remember him for his friendliness and his willingness to help others.

The family will receive visitors at Riffe’s Funeral Service on Wednesday, August 9th from 5:00 – 8:00 PM. The funeral will be Thursday, August 10, at 11:00 AM at the First Baptist Church in Narrows, Virginia. Pastor Shaun Wilburn and Pastor Jerry Sawyers will be officiating.
