Davis, Mary Stafford

Mary Gay Stafford Davis, 92, peacefully passed away Wednesday, August 22, 2018 at the home of her daughter and son-in-law. She had made her home in Williamsburg after the death of her husband, Carroll D. Davis. She was preceded in death by her parents, W. Frank & Irene Underwood Stafford.

In her final years, she often spoke of growing up in Trigg with lots of family. Her memories of her beloved Aunt Top Vest were close to her heart until the end. She retired from Celco in 1988. Anyone who knew her used the word perfectionist to describe her, whether it was cooking or sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Joy Boutwell and her husband, Billy of Williamsburg, VA; her granddaughters, Tami Lee and her husband Ryan of Aurora, Colorado and Angela Clark and her husband Jeff of Newport News, VA; her grandsons, Jarrod Vass and Michael Boutwell, both of Newport News, VA; she especially looked forward to spending time with her great-grandsons, Christian, Aiden, Abel and David.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 28, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Ingram Village United Methodist Church, with Rev. Jimmy Blankenship officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park, Inc. The family will receive friends Monday, August 27, 2018 at A. Vest & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, White Gate, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M.
