Davis, Mark Andrew

Mark Andrew Davis, 69, of Hope Mills, N.C., died Thursday, January 22, 2009, in Fayetteville, N.C. He was born in Pulaski County on June 30, 1939, and was the son of the late Henry A. Davis and Effie R. Adams. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Pierce Adams, Henry A. Davis Jr., Thomas Davis and Kyle A. (Bobby) Davis; and sisters, Evelyn Bratton and Lula Dawn Richardson. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Surviving are his daughter, Debbie Amos, Ridgeway, Va.; grandson, Christopher Amos, Ridgeway, Va.; sisters, Louise Harris, Barren Springs, Iris Pennington, Barren Springs, and Elizabeth Seagle, Dublin; brothers, Joseph Earl Davis, Richmond, and James Roy Davis, Bassett.

Funeral service will be held Monday, January 26, 2009, at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski with the Rev. Danny McGlothlin officiating. Burial will follow in the Drapers Valley Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, Wythe County with the Radford VFW Post #776 conducting the military graveside rites. Visiting will be Sunday from the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Pulaski.
