davis hubert clintonHubert Clinton Davis, 96, of Ripplemead, departed this life on Wednesday morning, January 9, 2013, in the care of Riverview Healthcare in Rich Creek. Born in Max Meadows, Va., on April 5, 1916, he was a son of the late Andy William and Mary Parcell Davis and spent most of his life on the family farm in the Clendennin Community. He was a veteran of the United States Army, World War II and was retired from the Radford Army Ammunition Plant. As a young man, Hubert had a meeting with God at Bethel Chapel that kept him all of his life. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Frank, Wayne, and Charlie Davis. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved sisters, Macie D. Griffith, of Radford, Irene D. Blevins, of Clinton, Tenn., Margaret D. Dudley, of Danville, Va., and Doris Davis, of the home in Ripplemead; and a host of nieces, nephews, neighbors, and friends. Funeral Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Sunday, January 13, 2013, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. Military Graveside Services will be rendered by American Legion Post #311 Pembroke, Post #68 Narrows, Post #145 Peterstown, and VFW Post #6000 Narrows.
