amem-redbuds.jpgElla Sturdivant Davis, 93, of Dublin, died early Sunday morning, April 15, 2007 at her Dublin residence. She was born June 5, 1913 in Wythe Co. and was the daughter of the late Joanna Hedrick Sturdivant and Alexander Sturdivant.

She was a retired employee of Roanoke Mills and a member of the Tower of Refuge Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dublin.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Bruce Davis, a son, William Bruce (Bill) Davis, a daughter, Mary Davis Gardner, brothers Dewey, Rufus, Robert and a sister, Julia Leache.

She is survived by one son, Robert (Bob) Davis and his wife, Wilma of Dublin; one daughter, Jean Davis Ceola and her husband, Joe of Fincastle, Va. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 23 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 17, 2007, at the Tower of Refuge Pentecostal Holiness Church in Dublin, with Pastor Cecil Albano officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday at the Tower of Refuge Church from 12 to 2 p.m. and other times at the home of Bob and Wilma Davis, 5061 Southern Drive, Dublin.

Flowers will be appreciated, but for those who wish, they may make memorial contributions in her memory to the Tower of Refuge Building Fund, P.O. Box 2243, Dublin, Va. 24084.
