Davis, Edith Rice

Edith Rice (Jean) Davis, 85, of Christiansburg, Va., died on Thursday, February 3, 2011, at Kroontje Health Care Center. She was born in Grossclose, Va., on June 23, 1925, to the late Charles and Mary Powers Rice.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, Marcus Lee Davis. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Barbara and Michael Link, of Newport; a son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Dawn Davis, of Goosecreek, S.C.; five grandchildren, Mark Davis II, Emily Baumstark, Hailey Disher, Wyatt Link and James Link; and a great-grandchild, Maci Humbertson.

Funeral Services will be conducted 3 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2011, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Tom Rice officiating. Interment will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends on Sunday from 1 p.m. until service time at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg, Va., 540-552-3211.
