Davis, Clyde Rufus

Clyde Rufus Davis, 78, of Peterstown, WV passed away, Sunday, October 2, 2016 at his home. Born July 9, 1938 at Willowton, WV he was the son of the late Clyde Swanson and Pauline Thomas Davis. He was a faithful member of the Lindside Christian Church and was retired from the Celanese Corp after 20 years of service.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by two daughters, Anna and Peggy Sue Davis and two sisters, Margaret Turner and Judy Evans. Survivors include his loving wife of 57 years, Ann Pendleton Davis, son, Billy Joe Davis and wife Wanda of Knoxville, TN, grandson, Alexander Davis, brothers, Robert Davis and wife Brenda of Radford, VA and Bobby Davis and wife Barbara of Kernersville, NC, sister, Betty A. Dent of Hampton, VA, several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Thursday, October 6, 2016 at the Broyles-Shrewsbury Funeral Home Chapel, Peterstown, WV. Burial will follow in the Sunrise Memorial Gardens, Rich Creek, VA. Visitation will be 11:00 AM until time of the service, Thursday at the funeral home.
