Charles Paul Davis “Snake” 81, of Long Shop died January 16, 2020 at his home. He was born April 23, 1938 to Gillie and Buck Davis of Blacksburg. Those preceding him were his sisters, Tootsie Southern, Dorothy Dowdy, Alice Tiller, brothers, Willard, Roy, and Frank Davis.

Charles “Snake” served 2 years in the United States Army and 4 years in the Virginia National Guard. He was a contractor in Blacksburg over 40 years.

He is survived by his wife of 61 and a half years, Norma Jean Witt Davis, four sons, Charles Eric and Carolyn Davis, Gregory Lynn and Melanie Davis, Douglas Wayne Davis, Brian Scott Davis, grandchildren, Candace Davis, Jessie and Karina Davis, Kasey Davis, Cheyenne and Alex Dunn, Hunter Davis, Tyler Davis, Taylor Carroll, Whitney and Josh Howell, Howie Albert, nine great-grandchildren, siblings, Bill Davis, Brenda Arthur and Shirley Dove.

A special thanks to family, friends, Carilion Clinic Hospice NRV for the support and help during Snake’s illness.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, January 20, 2020 at 12:00 noon in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Jimmie Lee Price officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3-6:00 pm Sunday afternoon at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
