Davis, Carol Jean

Carol Jean Davis, 61, of Radford, died Friday, August 24, 2012, as the result of an auto accident in Dublin, Va. Born on July 5, 1951, in Pulaski, she is the daughter of Minnie Harris Davis and the late Darce Benjamin Davis. Carol was a graduate of Radford University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Social Services. She was retired from the New River Valley Juvenile Detention Center with 37 years of service as a childcare supervisor. She currently was employed by Anderson Merchandisers. She was an avid Dallas Cowboy fan. Survivors include her mother, Minnie Harris Davis, of Pulaski; brother, Larry Davis and Sue Smith, of Floyd; close friends, Rhonda Houchins and Buck Ratliff; many cousins; co-workers; and friends. Memorial Services will be held at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 28, 2012, in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Pastor Mike Lester officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 6 p.m. until the service hour at the Bower Funeral Home, 1631 Bob White Blvd., Pulaski.
