Davis, Betty Jo

Betty Jo Davis, 73, of Floyd, passed away Saturday, November 11, 2006 at her home. Mrs. Davis was preceded in death by a son, William H. (Bill) Hess.

She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Gene Lee and Irene Hess, Matewan, W.Va.; three daughters and son-in-law, Carolyn Sue Lott, Goody, Ky., Teresa Lynn Lewis, Atlanta, Ga., Judy and Sean Durham, Floyd, Va.; one sister, Edith Shelton, Floral City, Fla.; eight grandchildren, Melissa Webb, Kristie Hess, Gina Lee Hess, Jacob Lott, Danny Paul Lott, George Lott, Joelyna Hess, and Joey Blackburn; eight greatgrandchildren; three special friends, Betty Sheppard, Christiansburg, Va., Kathy Hale, Floyd, Va., and Katherine Durham, Blacksburg, Va.

Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Thursday, November 16, 2006 at Beaver Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Ron Sutphin officiating. Interment will follow at the Sifford Cemetery in Parrott, Va. Friends may call at Gardner Funeral Home Wednesday after 1 p.m. where the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m.
