Davis, Alma Simpson

Alma Simpson Davis, age 81, of Floyd joyfully completed her journey home to her Savior on Saturday, December 19, 2015, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Walton, Va. on February 26, 1934. She was preceded in death by her parents, Claine Simpson and Iva Akers Bishop, brother, Thurman Akers, children, Lynn Moore and Mike Bishop.

Left to cherish her memory, her husband of 51 years, Alvin Dexter Davis, children, Danny Bishop, Patricia Keister, Ann and Bud Merrill, Marcia Chew, Martha Bishop and Brenda Reed, grandchildren, Barbara Cameron, Lee Bishop, Kimberly Moore, Melissa Fernatt, Carrie Bishop, Andrew Chew, Jordan Bishop, Liz and Rocky Catron, great grandchildren, Samantha Huff, Grace Cameron, Benjamin and Alexander Catron, sister, Cookie Kirby, countless cherished friends from Little River and Gateway Baptist Churches.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, December 22, 2015 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Dewey O. Weaver, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Monday evening at the McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr. SW, Blacksburg.
