Steve Davidson, 88, of Pulaski, Va., died Friday, April 2, 2010, in the Veterans Hospital in Salem. He was born May 28, 1921, in Wythe Co., and was the son of the late Mattie Safewright Davidson and Jasper Davidson.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the United States Army in Europe and was a member of the American Legion.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Dolly Myers Davidson, of Pulaski; two sons, Larry S. Davidson and his wife, Ann, of Draper, and Jerry A. Davidson, of Pulaski; a daughter, Sandy Hancock and her husband, Larry, of Pulaski; a sister, Mary Ling and her husband, Don, of Creston, Ohio. He is also survived by six grandchildren, Kevin Davidson, of Draper, Brent Erik Davidson, of Draper, and Brian Davidson, of Pulaski Co., Christopher Davidson, of Columbia, S.C., Bradley Hancock, of Harrisonburg, and Tara Hancock Linkous and her husband, Eric, of Warrenton; and one great-grandson, Connor John Linkous, of Warrenton; along with many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday, April 5, 2010, at 11 a.m. at Seagle Funeral Home with the Rev. David Lones officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where the V.F.W. Post 1184 will conduct Military Honors. The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
