Daugherty, Margaret Seay

Margaret Seay Daugherty, 96, of Pulaski Co. died Monday, October 22, 2012, in the Lewis-Gale Hospital Pulaski. She was born in Norton (Wise Co.) on July 5, 1916, and was the daughter of the late William Walter Seay and Cora Mae Allen Seay. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Daugherty and by a brother, Douglas Seay. Mrs. Daugherty was a retired employee of the Virginia Employment Commission having 41 years of service. She was also a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Pulaski, since 1940 and was a member of the church choir for over 30 years. Since her retirement, she was an active volunteer with the Pulaski RSVP. Surviving are her son and daughter-in-law, Bill and Robin Daugherty; grandchildren, Ashley, Allison and Jason; and special friends, Brenda Underwood, Judy Belcher, and Debra Boyd. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, October 25, 2012, from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Melissa King officiating. Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. Visiting will be Thursday at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
