amem_frozen_beauty.jpgLorin Richard (Dick) Daub, of Blacksburg, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 at the age of 88. He was preceded in death by his wife, Anita Daub eleven years ago. He is survived by two children and their spouses, Richard and Elleanore Daub of Richmond, Barbara Daub and Bernie Sanders of Roanoke; two granddaughters, Jennifer Daub Victorin and Jesse Daub.

Dick Daub was a graduate of Drexel University in Philadelphia, Pa. with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He was employed by Hercules in Hopewell, Va., between 1946 to 1968, during those years the Daub’s lived in Petersburg, Va. In 1968, Dick was transferred to the Radford Arsenal with Hercules, at which time Dick and Anita made their home in Blacksburg.

After moving to Blacksburg, Dick and Anita were one of the ten founders of Indian Run subdivision. In his retirement years, Dick was active in the Montgomery County Planning Commission.

Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at 2 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Schroeder officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Luther Memorial Lutheran Church Living Memorial Fund, 600 Prices Fork Road, NW, Blacksburg, Va. 24060.
