Darnell, Scott Randall

Scott Randall Darnell, 49, of Darnell Mt. Rd., Ripplemead, departed this life Friday morning, September 6, 2013 at Lewis-Gale Pulaski Hospital after a long battle with cancer. Born in Martinsville on June 15, 1964, he was a son of Virgil and Joann Martin Darnell of the home.

He had been employed with Virginia Mountain Housing doing home improvement projects.

He leaves to cherish his memory his parents; his devoted and loving wife Donna Lusk Darnell; his daughters, Nicole Reed McCormick (Matt) of Athens, W.Va. and Aloria Proffitt and Chris Collins of Staffordsville; his brothers, Darrell, Danny, Monty, and Ronnie Darnell; his sisters, Judy Clark and Teena Dennis; his three grandchildren; and a host of friends and neighbors.

Memorial Services will be conducted Saturday, September 14, 2013 at 1 p.m. in Riverview Baptist Church at Ripplemead with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church one hour before the services.

The family respectfully requests that flowers be omitted and memorial contributions be made to Donna L. Darnell, P.O. Box 242, Ripplemead, VA 24150 to help defray the medical expenses incurred during Scott’s illness.
