Darnell, Donna Lusk

Donna Kay Lusk Darnell of Ripplemead, VA departed this life surrounded by loved ones on July 16, 2021. Born in Wyoming County, WV, on March 1, 1959, she was a daughter of the late Jack and Juanita Lusk.

Donna was a 1977 graduate of Herndon High School and a 1993 graduate of Valley Community College. Donna served as a bus driver for Giles County Public Schools and as a housecleaner. She was an avid flower gardener, cherished holidays with her family, loved antiquing, and always looked forward to spending time at her camper.

She is preceded in death by her parents; and her beloved husband, Scott Darnell.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters Aloria Proffitt (Chris Collins) of Ripplemead, VA, and Nicole McCormick (Matt) of Ronceverte, WV; grandchildren, Cricket McCormick, Daisy McCormick, Reed McCormick, Rose McCormick, Stella Collins, Scott Collins, Easton Collins, and Amelia Collins; brother Larry Lusk (Vickie) of Bud, WV; a special cousin, Teresa Holt; and many more special cousins and friends.

There will be a memorial service held at Riverview Baptist Church on Saturday, July 24, 2021 at 1:00 PM with Pastor Shahn Wilburn officiating. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:30 PM until 1:00 PM. Following the church service, there will be a celebration of Donna’s life on Darnell Mountain.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial contributions be made in Donna’s honor to St Jude’s Research Hospital (501 St. Jude Place • Memphis, TN 38105).
