darden_bette_bryantBette Bryant Darden began her fight with breast cancer where she both won and lost. She leaves behind two loving daughters, Katie Day Beamer and Mary Lee Beamer; father and mother, Tony and Helen Darden; brothers, Kem and Day Darden; and a city full of friends.

Graduate of Radford High School, Sullins College, and attended Converse College. She started her career at St. Albans Hospital for 27 years and then The Inn at Virginia Tech. Bette Bryant always helped others in her personal and professional life. Thanks to all who have helped through her battle.

Visitation will be Sunday, December 26, 2010 from 5 to 7 p.m. at First Christian Church of Radford, Va. Service will be Monday, December 27, 2010 at 11 a.m. at First Christian Church with Dr. Gina Rhea and father David Rose officiating followed by a graveside service at Westview Cemetary.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to First Christian Church, 400 Tyler Avenue, Radford, Va., 24141, or to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
