Ruth Ann Pettry Dalton, 68, of Willis, Va., passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2010, at Roanoke Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 1, 1942, in Edwight, W.Va., she was the daughter of the late Roscoe and Elpha Clay Pettry. She is preceded in death by her husband, Harry C. Dalton.

Ruth Ann retired from Floyd Garment Company after many years of service. During her retirement years, Ruth Ann enjoyed her trips to Floyd with her husband, Harry, every week. The rest of her time was spent on her front porch with family and friends.

Surviving are her sister and brother-in-law, Lafone and Harlis Moles, of Floyd, Va.; brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Brenda Pettry, of Potomac, Md.; sister-in-law, Effie Dalton, of Christiansburg, Va.; nieces and nephews, Janie and Jimmy Spence, Joyce Howery and Mike Nolen, Charles Moles and Dawn Thompson, Lowell and Nina Dalton, and Titus and Glenda Dalton, and Charles Millis; and several great-nieces and nephews also survive.

The family wishes to thank friends and neighbors on Horse Ridge Road, Gentiva Home Health, and the Floyd County Rescue Squad Station 4.
Funeral Services will be held 2 p.m. on Sunday, September 26, 2010, at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Roy Turpin officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at the Sumpter Cemetery, Indian Valley.
