Moir Addison (Mo) Dalton, 75, of Elliston, was peacefully called to his eternal home on Sunday, October 23, 2011. He was born in Hillsville, on March 26, 1936, to the late Charlie Addison and Macy Goad Dalton. He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Elizabeth Dalton Mize. Moir is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Shelby Coble Dalton; one brother, William Dean Dalton and wife, Ruby, of Elliston; and two sisters, Brenda Dalton Huff and husband, Eugene, of Hillsville, and Karen Dalton Gallimore and husband, Robert, of Hillsville. He was a loving and devoted dad and Pa Pa and is also survived by one daughter, Dianne Dalton Hall and husband, Bubbie, of Elliston; two sons, Moir Stephen Dalton and friend, Lisa Baily, of Elliston, and Bradley Addison Dalton and wife, April, of Vinton; two grandchildren, Chance Lawrence Hall and wife, Terri Hensley-Hall, of Roanoke, and Heather Hall Light and husband, Barry, of Elliston; one stepgreat-grandchild, Madison Grace Hensley; many nieces and nephews; and a furry friend, Tom. Moir was employed at Montgomery County Collection Site for five years and retired from Koppers after 25 years. He was an avid sportsman and animal lover and proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a faithful and devoted member of the Elliston Church of God and is beloved by all in his community. Funeral Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 26, 2011, at the Elliston Church of God with the Rev. Wayne Powell and the Rev. Ronald King officiating. Friends may visit with family on Tuesday, October 25, 2011, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow the service at Piedmont Cemetery.
