Dalton, Julia Cleta Shepherd

Julia Cleta Dalton, 87, of Pearisburg, departed this life Friday, March 4, 2011, at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Waiteville, W.Va., June 14, 1923, she was a daughter of the late Omer F. and Reba Dell Collins Shepherd. She was retired after 32 years service at Giles Memorial Hospital in Pearisburg and attended the Pembroke Assembly of God. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert R. Dalton; her daughter, Frances Dalton; her brothers, James S. Shepherd and John M. Shepherd; and her sisters Nannie T. Stump, Virginia L. May and Violet M. Chewning. She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Omer Franklin and Carolyn Lee Dalton, of Alexandria, William E. and Betty Dalton, of Dublin, Alice Faye Kibler, of Pearisburg, Emmaline Meadows, of Pearisburg, Mildred Keith, of Prince George County; her nine grandchildren; her six great-grandchildren; her three great-great-grandchildren; her sisters, Margaret D. White, Dorothy L. Groves and Betty S. Williams, all of Pearisburg. Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Pembroke Assembly of God on Virginia Avenue with burial following in Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg.
