Dalton, Ila Oletta

Ila Oletta Dalton, 87, of Indian Valley, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, July 21, 2008.

She was born in Christiansburg on August 23, 1920, to the late Earnest Clinton and Margaret Malina (Mellie) Duncan Dalton. Ila was a dairy farmer by trade, loved to work in the garden and was a good cook. She was well known in the Floyd County community for her beautiful hand-made quilts and crocheted pieces. She attended the Union Primitive Baptist Church of Indian Valley.

Ila was also preceded in death by one brother, Harold Eugene Dalton, of Indian Valley. She is survived by her loving brother, Harry Clinton Dalton; sister-in-law, Ruth Ann Dalton, of Indian Valley; and her sister-in-law, Effie Mae Showalter Dalton, of Christiansburg. Ila will be greatly missed by her nieces and nephews, Lois D. and Charles N. Millis, of Wilkinson, Ind., Lowell B. and Nina R. Dalton, of Blacksburg, and Titus E. and Glenda S. Dalton, of Christiansburg. She dearly loved her great-nieces and nephews, David Millis, of Wilkinson, Ind., Jasmine M. and John Quiett, of Greenfield, Ind., Bethany Dalton, of Radford, and Chad E. Dalton, of Christiansburg.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, July 24, 2008, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Maberry Funeral Home with the funeral services immediately following at 2 p.m. in the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel with the Elder Larry Hollandsworth officiating. Interment will be at the Sumpter Cemetery in Indian Valley. Arrangements by Maberry Funeral Home, Floyd, Va.
