Dalton, Harold P.
Harold P. (Cookie) Dalton, 72, a prominent contractor of Draper, Va. for 45 years and a United States Army veteran departed this life on Wednesday, June 27, 2007.
He was a Master Carpenter/Builder who has left his legacy throughout Pulaski and surrounding counties. Born in Draper, Va. on February 14, 1935, he was the son of the late Robert Lee and Dora King Dalton. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Geraldine Duncan Dalton; three brothers, James Douglas (Jimmy) Dalton, Richard (Dick) Dalton, and Donald Dalton; and one sister, Betty Lou Izat.
Leaving to cherish in his memories are his son and daughter-in-law, Harold P. (Bud) and Phyllis Dalton of Draper; daughter, Priscilla Jean Dalton of Indiana; grandchildren, Amy Thomas of Kansas City, Miss., Kevin Jones and Amy Underwood of Floyd, Jon Dalton of Draper , and Shane Dalton of Draper; great grandchildren , Abby Thomas, Matthew Thomas, Paige Underwood, and Hannah Jones; brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne and Joyce Dalton of Draper, Jerry and Sharon Dalton of Draper , and Freddie Dalton of Draper; sisters and brother-in-law , Janice (Jan Tana) and David B. Puzzo of Texas and Joyce Coffey of Tenn.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 30, 2007 at the Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Earnest Chinault and the Rev. Bryan Wyke officiating. Interment will follow at the Memorial Christian Church Cemetery, Draper. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday evening, June 29, 2007 at the Bower Funeral Chapel, 1631 Bobwhite Blvd., Pulaski.
In lieu of flowers, Cookie has requested donations be made to Mary Blankenship Liver Cancer Fund, 1235 Pepper Ferry Road, Pulaski, VA 24301. Opportunities will also be made available during visitation and funeral service hours.
A special “thanks” to Pulaski Community Hospital, Doctors and staff and the New River Valley Cancer Center for all their love and support at the time of Cookie’s illness.
