Gladys Irene Marshall Dalton, age 96 of Pulaski and formerly of Hiwassee passed away Friday, September 20, 2013 at Lewis Gale Hospital, Pulaski.

Born January 16, 1917 in Hiwassee, she was the daughter of the late Jacob Lewis Marshall and Elsie Marie Collins Marshall. Her husband, William Matthew Dalton, two sons; Ray O. Dalton and Jackie Lee Dalton and two brothers; Stanley S. Marshall and Charles J. Marshall , and one son-in-law, Ray Duncan also preceded her in death.

She was a founding member of the Hiwassee Church of the Brethren where she served as a deaconess. She had worked at the former Hiwassee Elementary school in the Cafeteria and also worked for many years at the former Parks –Belk Store in Pulaski.

Funeral services will be held Monday 1:00 p.m., September 23, 2013 in the Bower Funeral Home Chapel, Pulaski with Rev. David Shumate, and Revs. Lee and Robin Naff officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin.

Visitation will be Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Bower Funeral Home, Pulaski.

The family will be meeting at the home of her daughter, Dorothy Duncan, 2336 Julia Simpkins Road, Hiwassee.
