Cyrus, Brenda Blankenship
Brenda Blankenship Cyrus, 70, of Narrows, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, November 3, 2011. A lifelong resident of Giles County, she was born on August 14, 1941 and was the daughter of the late Earnest Paul and Carrie Evelyn Ratliff Blankenship. In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by four brothers, William (Bill) Blankenship, Jessie Blankenship, Bobby Joe Blankenship, and Charles Blankenship; and four sisters, Carol Bouldin, Eula Hale, Louise Wiley and “Shorty” Blankenship. Brenda was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend and will be dearly missed by her family and all who knew and loved her. Left to cherish her memory are a son, Freddie Cyrus of Narrows; three daughters, Crystal Harris of Bayden Lake, North Carolina, Anna Cossey Neal of Pilot, and Amanda Blankenship of Giles County; nine grandchildren and six great-grandchildren; two brothers, Jack Blankenship of Rich Creek and Paul Blankenship of Narrows; a sister, Evelyn Blankenship of Luray; numerous nieces; nephews; cousins and many special friends. The family wishes to thank Dr. Scott Hayes for the care given to Brenda through the years. Funeral services will be held Monday, November 7, 2011 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Riffe’s Funeral Service with Greta and Larry Bolen officiating. Burial will follow in Sunrise Memorial Gardens in Rich Creek. The family will receive friends at Riffe’s Funeral Chapel Monday from 12 noon until just prior to the service.
