Cupp, Catherine Barnett

Catherine Barnett Cupp of Christiansburg, Va. passed from this earth, to be with her Lord and Savior, July 30, 2014 at 8:00 PM, ending a long illness. Catherine was born Nov. 2, 1921 in Blacksburg, Va. Her Father was Luther Barnett. Her mother was Lucy Blanche Frazier Barnett.

She was preceded in passing by her husband Harry Edward Cupp; brothers – Atlee Frazier, Gilbert Frazier, Cuba Barnett; and Luther Barnett Jr.; sisters – Mae Elizabeth Davis, Sarah Cruise, Hallie Spradlin, and Betty Wright; sons – Thomas Edward Cupp, Donald Wayne Cupp, Michael Randolph Cupp; grandsons – David Wayne Saunders, Terry Bentley, David Edward Cupp; granddaughter – Jessica Cupp, Brandy Jensen; sons-in-law – Walter Quinton Bentley Jr. (Best Buddy), and Wallace Casey. She is survived by her children – Margaret Ann Saunders and husband Jack, Ronald Dewitt Cupp, Betty Patricia Bentley, Judy Faye Kirk, Diane Elizabeth Poff and husband Chris, Roger Lee Cupp, Cathy Elliott, and David Anthony Cupp and wife Karlene; daughter in law – Mary Cupp; brother – Calvin C. Barnett; 31 grandchildren; 54 great-grandchildren; 25 great-great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.

She worked 32 years at Lake Terrace Motel, without retiring until age 84. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

Funeral Services will be held 11:00 AM, Saturday 8/2/2014 at McCoy Funeral Home, Inc, Blacksburg, Va. Messages of Truth and Comfort will be delivered by Reverends James Angle, Lee Sarver, and Jordan Myers,. Pallbearers will be Matthew Cupp, Brad Bentley, Danny Bentley, Scott Elliott, Donnie Fleet, and Sam Fleet. Internment will be at Roselawn Cemetery, Christiansburg, Va.

Our family extends gratitude to Dr. Christine Jordan, and visiting staff at Amedisys Home Health, and Amedisys Hospice for exceptional understanding and kindness.

The family will receive friends Friday evening from 6-8:00 pm at McCoy Funeral Home 150 Country Club Dr., Blacksburg. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home.
