On Sunday, November 5, 2017, James “Jimmy” Cunningham, age 69, of Shawsville, peacefully went home with the Lord. He was preceded in death by his father Robert Cunningham; mother, LeeVanis Cunningham; two brothers, Melvin and Donald “Duck” Cunningham; and one great-grandchild, Lilly Grace Cox.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 45 years, Marie Cunningham; two sons, Jamey Cunningham and wife, Christie, Eric Musselman and wife, Debbie; six grandchildren, Candace and Ashley Cunningham, Brittany, Brett, and Brendon Pettus, Rachel Musselman; great-aunt, Charlote Mutusavitch; and a host of friends.

Jimmy loved everyone he came in contact with and he loved the Lord with all his heart. He will be very sadly missed by everyone that knew him. The family wishes to thank Medi Home Hospice for their excellent care of James Cunningham.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at 12:00 noon in the Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church with the Rev. Ronnie Lilly and Rev. Tim Myers officiating. Interment will follow in Piedmont Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5-9:00 p.m., Tuesday evening at Shawsville Congregational Holiness Church.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family to offset expenses would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements by McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
