Cumbee, Walter Miller

Walter Miller (Bucky) Cumbee, 63, of Eggleston Road in Pembroke, Va., departed this life on Sunday morning, November 11, 2007 at Roanoke Memorial Hospital in Roanoke, Va.

Born in Pembroke on April 21, 1944, he was a son of the late Charles Chapman and Edith Irene Carter Cumbee. He had been employed on construction work for most of his life.

He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Richard Lee, Winfred and Ronnie Lee Cumbee. He leaves to cherish his memory his beloved wife of thirty-seven years, Juanita Marie Bailey Cumbee; four sons, Joe David Bailey of Eggleston, Walter Dewayne Cumbee of Blacksburg, Darrell Wayne Cumbee and James Edward Cumbee, both of Pembroke; three grandchildren, Justin, Liberty and Eli Cumbee; his mother-in-law, Ella Florence Bailey; sisters-in-law, Ruby Carol Bailey of Shawsville, Linda Collins of Newport, Patty Collins of Pembroke, Carolyn Ruth Bailey of Pembroke, Edna Virginia Price of Newport, Sandy Gail Bailey of Blacksburg, Bertie Cumbee of Pembroke, Anita Cumbee of Rich Creek and Betty W. Cumbee of Pembroke; brothers-in-law, Teddy Bailey of Pembroke and James Bailey of Hoges Chapel.

Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, November 14, 2007 at 2 p.m. in The Kendall Funeral Home Chapel at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with burial following in the Clover Hollow Cemetery at Newport.
