Cumbee, Annie Lou

Annie Lou Cumbee, 78, of Pembroke, departed this life Wednesday, December 28, 2011 at Carilion Giles Community Hospital in Pearisburg. Born in Pembroke on September 27, 1933, she was a daughter of the late Kemper and Willie Lucas Cumbee.

She was a faithful member of the Pembroke Christian Church, and resided in the Sam Robinson Apartments in Pembroke.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers Howard and Herman Cumbee and her sister Anna Bell Donathan.

She leaves to cherish her memory a brother and sister-in-law “Buddie” William Carl and Sue Cumbee of Pembroke; her sister Julie Ellen Bailey and her family of Pembroke; her half-brothers Bobbie Cumbee and David Cumbee and her half-sister Mildred Sanders.

Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 2:00 pm in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow St., Pembroke with Pastor Reggie Britts and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will follow in the Williams Cemetery at Hoges Chapel near Pembroke. The family will receive friends at the funeral home two hours before the services.
