Albert (Al) Jackson Cruff, 82, of Dublin, met with the Lord, Friday, June 2, 2006. He was born August 23, 1923 in Pulaski County and was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth Jennings Cruff and son, Gary D. Cruff.

Al served in the Navy during World War II and was a lifetime member of the Pulaski VFW Post 1184 and was an Honor guard. He was an ironworker for 45 years and a member of the Roanoke Union 697.

Surviving him are his loving wife, Helen Stout Cruff, Dublin; one grandson, Brian L. Cruff, Jersey City, N.J.; his stepdaughter, Gwen S. Long, Bristol, Va.; his half sister, Mary Poole; and his nieces, Betty Osborne and Lorraine Wright.

Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, June 6, 2006 11 a.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski with the Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Interment will follow at Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin, with full military honors conducted at the gravesite by Pulaski VFW Post 1184. The family will receive friends Monday evening, June 5, 2006 from 6 to 8 p.m. at Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski. Bower Funeral Chapel, Pulaski, is handling arrangements for the family.
