Warren Davis Croy, 83, of Pearisburg, departed this life to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, July 5, 2011, at the Virginia Veterans Care Center in Salem, Va. Born in Staffordsville on March 15, 1928, he was a son of the late Robert Lee and Bessie Lou Johnston Croy.

He was retired as a millwright from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows, was a member of First Christian Church (DOC) in Pearisburg, was a member of Wabash Lodge IOOF, was a veteran of the United States Army during the Korean Conflict, was a member of VFW Post 6000 in Narrows and was a member of Giles Lodge No. 106 A.F. & A.M. in Pearisburg.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Margaret Merrix Croy; his brother, Buford Croy; and his sisters, Lillian Stafford and Mable Lee Motley.

He leaves to cherish his memory his daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Billy Patton, of Pearisburg, Lynn C. Morris, of Pembroke, Drema Croy, of Pearisburg, Rene’ and Gary Cox, of Christiansburg, and Keely and Brandon Farlow, of Grottoes; his son and daughter-in-law, Warren Keith and Diania Long Croy, of Bozoo, W.Va.; his brother, J.B. Croy, of Pembroke; and his grandchildren, Shane, Dylan, and Brad Cox, Travis and Shelley Patton, Seth and Kari Croy, Andrew and Isaiah Farlow.

Funeral Services will be conducted at 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 7, 2011, in the Kendall Funeral Home, 605 Snidow Street, Pembroke with entombment following in Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg. Graveside Military Services will be conducted by VFW Post 6000, American Legion Posts 145 at Peterstown, 311 at Pembroke, and 68 at Narrows. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday evening, July 6, 2011, from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Giles Adult Daycare in Pearisburg.
