Croy, Margaret Merrix

Margaret Elllen Croy , 78, of Pearis Road in Pearisburg, departed this life Saturday, October 27, 2007 at Heritage Hall Health Care in Blacksburg. Born in Pembroke on October 12, 1929 she was a daughter of the late Frank Merrix and Modine Hilton Merrix Short and step-daughter of the late Norval Short.

She was a member of First Christian Church in Pearisburg and was retired from the Celanese Celco Plant at Narrows.

Two brothers preceded her in death, “Buck” Wayne Merrix and Coy Merrix. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband of fifty-four years, Warren Davis Croy; a son and daughter-in-law, Warren Keith and Diania Croy of Bozoo, W.Va.; five daughters and sons-in-law, Kay and Billy Patton of Pearisburg, Lynn Morris of Pearisburg, Drema Croy of Pearisburg, Rene and Gary Cox of Christiansburg, Keely and Brandon Farlow of Grottoes; nine grandchildren, Shane, Dylan, and Brad Cox, Travis and Shelley Patton, Seth and Kari Croy, Andrew and Isaiah Farlow.

Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 11 a.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home at 605 Snidow St. in Pembroke with Pastor William Sleasman and Pastor Eddie Kendall officiating. Entombment will follow in Birchlawn Abbey in Pearisburg.
