Suzanne (Susie) Mary Berry Crowder, 59, of Pulaski, Va., beloved wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend departed this life on Monday July 21, 2014 after a long, hard battle with cancer. She was born on July 16, 1955 in Pulaski and was the daughter of Louise H. Berry and the late Dallas Gracen Berry, Sr. of Pulaski.

She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church, Robinson Tract, Pulaski, a Life Member of the Ladies Auxilliary VFW Post #1184, a Life Member of the Disabled American Veterans – Chapter 29 Wainwright Lodge in Christiansburg, a Life Member of the NRA and a member of the Golden Eagles NRA.

Susie leaves behind to cherish her memory her husband, Hasvil Douglas Crowder, Pulaski; daughter and son-in-law, Melissa (Missy) and Jim Trainer, Pulaski; son and daughter-in-law, Stephen (Marcus) and Danielle Taylor, Pulaski; daughter, Becky Smith, Kannapolis, N.C.; mother, Louise H. Berry, Pulaski; grandchildren, Shayne Trainer, Mary Beth Trainer, Amber Trainer, Brandon Harvey, Taylor Simpkins, Grayson Taylor, Rachel Smith and Braxton Smith; great-grandchild, Savannah Rose Smith; sisters and brothers-in-law, Delores (Dee) and Saford Finn, Pulaski, Shirley and Phil Shrewsbury, Pulaski; Sharon and Maury Sharp, Blacksburg, Karen and Craig Gusler, Dublin; brother and sister-in-law, Roy and Barbara Berry, Pulaski; brother, Garnet Berry, Dublin; sister-in-law, Mildred Berry, Pulaski; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2014, at 11 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Johnny Howlett officiating. Burial will follow in Highland Memory Gardens, Dublin. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at the funeral home where the family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the American Breast Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Rd., Suite 106A, Roanoke, VA 24018.
