cromer david garyDavid Gary Cromer, 75, of Blacksburg, died Thursday, April 4, 2013, at his home. He was born in Blacksburg September 13, 1937, to the late Cab and Betty Martin Cromer. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilton and Donald Cromer; one sister, Dorothy Cromer Weddle. On Saturday, March 30, with the Rev. Everette Shepherd by his side, David could say “All is Well with my soul”. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Kathleen B. Cromer; daughters, Debora Cromer Gaborik and husband, Kenneth, of Blacksburg, Donna Cromer Graham and husband, Scottie, of Newport; grandchildren, Kendra Gaborik Holcomb and husband, Jimmy, David Bruce Caldwell, and Lucas Jennings Graham; a great-grandson, David’s pride and joy, Leo Richard Holcomb; Kenneth Thompson, whom David considered a brother; his beloved pet, Burrberry; several nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Pam, Lori, and Butch at Carilion New River Valley Hospice for all their loving care. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, April 7, 2013, in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Everette Shepherd officiating. Burial will follow in Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Carilion New River Valley Hospice, 707 Randolph St. Suite 251 Radford, VA. 24141. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at the McCoy Funeral Home, Blacksburg.
