Kenneth Haynes Criner, 65, of Radford, passed away Friday, March 14, 2014. He proudly served in the U. S. Army during the Vietnam War and retired from Lynchburg Foundry after many years of service. He was a member of Central United Methodist Church. Kenneth loved his family and especially enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Haynes Luther and Almena Lee Nixon Criner, and a brother Phil Criner.

He is survived by his loving wife Patricia S. Criner; sons and daughter-in-law, Jason Criner of Floyd, and Travis and Sharon Criner of Suffolk; stepdaughter and her husband, Crystal and Vinton Thompson of Radford; stepson and his wife, Keith and Katrina Lawrence of Pembroke; grandchildren Layla Marie Criner and Izak Lee Criner, Haley and Hannah Thompson, and Shawn Lawrence; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mark Criner, David and Lana Criner, and Charlie and Debra Criner; special nephew and his wife, Greg and Vickie Criner; mother-in-law, Josephine Simpson; brother-in-law, William Simpson; good friend, Rose Rogers; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbors.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at 2:00 pm at Central United Methodist Church in Radford with Rev. Don Shelor and Rev. Dale Gilbert officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memory Gardens in Dublin where members of VFW Post #776 will conduct military graveside rites. The family will receive friends Monday evening from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Mullins Funeral Home in Radford.
