Criner, Fannie Irene Shealor

Fannie Irene Shealor Criner, of Christiansburg, Va., passed away March 26, 2009, surrounded by her loving family, after a lengthy illness. Fannie was born on November 27, 1929, to Fred and Beulah Shealor. She was a member of Luther Memorial Lutheran Church and the Order of the Eastern Star. Fannie was a retired employee of the Virginia Tech Printing Department.

She was predeceased by her mother and father; her husband, Jimmy; her son, Rusty; her brother, Freddie; and her sister, Alice Martin. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter and son-in-law, Sheryl and Scott Bagg; her grandson and wife, Christopher and Morgan Bagg; a brother-inlaw, Boots Martin; sisters, Ettie McCoy, Frances Williams and husband, T.O.; her brother, Duane Shealor and wife, Bonnie. Fannie is also survived by numerous special nieces, nephews and cousins.

Fannie cherished her family as they cherished her. She loved people and never met a stranger. She loved working in her flowers. Fannie was always helping others even when her health was declining. Doing and caring for others was her trademark and calling in life. She gave unconditional love to all those she encountered throughout her lifetime. Her family and many friends are blessed and honored to have had her in their lives. Her passing leaves cherished memories as well as many broken hearts.

The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Dr. David Stoeckle, Dr. Chris Jordan, and the nursing staff of ICU and Progressive Care at Montgomery Regional Hospital for all their outstanding and loving care.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, March 30, 2009, at 3 p.m. in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Gary Schroeder officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
