Crawford, Thelma Duncan

Thelma Duncan Crawford, age 90, of Blacksburg died Friday, September 30, 2016, at Heritage Hall Health Care. She was born in Craig County, Va. on February 26, 1926 to the late Walter Clarence and Evelyn Irene Myers Duncan and was also preceded in death by her husband Mark Euston Crawford.

She was the daughter of a WWI Veteran and an avid gardner, especially taking care of her flowers. Thelma retired from Va Tech.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Linda C. and Charles N. Hall, of Blacksburg; son and daughter-in-law, Jerry Wayne and Wanda Crawford, of Christiansburg; sister, Edith Sloan, of Salem; two grandchildren, Melinda Ann Cumbee and husband Richard, of Blacksburg, Anthony Wayne “Tony” and Heather Crawford, of Christiansburg; great-granddaughter, Courtney Elizabeth Cumbee, of Blacksburg; two special nieces, Angie Hohouser and Lisa Dooley and other nieces and nephews, special friends, Ella Cromer, Missy Cromer, Shawn Cromer, Betty Ward, Sharon Gotkiewicz, Curtis and Linda Kast, Gary and Nancy Connor, Joyce Ann Surface.

Funeral services will be conducted Monday, October 3, 2016 at 2:00 pm in the McCoy Funeral Home Chapel with the Pastor Juniece Fillingham, Rev. Gary Alls and Assistant Pastor, James Wright officiating. Interment will follow in the Westview Cemetery, Blacksburg.

In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Blacksburg Rescue Squad, 1300 Progress St., NW, Blacksburg, VA.

The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 pm Sunday at McCoy Funeral Home, 150 Country Club Drive SW, Blacksburg.
