Crawford, Opal Woodyard

Opal Woodyard Crawford, 93, of Wytheville, Va., died Thursday afternoon Jan. 2, 2020. She was born in Giles County, Va., Jan. 16, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, Willie Sayers Crawford Jr.

She was a member of Open Door Baptist Church.

Surviving are her daughter, Lillie Dean; sons and daughters-in-law, William Lee and Mary Crawford and Joseph Reed and Dreama Crawford; sisters, Maggie Dillow, Mildred Spangler and Dorothy Byrd; brother, Arnold Woodyard; six grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service is Sunday at 2 p.m. from Stevens Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Kelly Howlett officiating. Burial follows in Thornspring Cemetery, Pulaski County, Va.

Visiting is Sunday at the funeral home, where the family is receiving friends from 1 p.m. until the service hour.
