Lois Thompson Crawford left her earthly home at the age of 90, on December 17th, to be with her husband, Stanley, and two sons, Danny and Terry Crawford, whom she loved dearly.

This happens to be 47 years, to the day, that her mother passed away, whom she took care of until she died on December 17, 1975. She was one of seven children born to Robert and Mary Thompson.

Lois is survived by her younger brother, Kenneth Thompson, sister in law, Jean Thompson, daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Kenneth Shepherd, daughter and son-in-law, Dee Dee and Wayland Overstreet, two daughters-in-law, Shirley Hutchinson, Ann Crawford, “daughter in law” Janie Shepherd-Smith and nine grandchildren and many great grandchildren whom were her pride and joy. She had many nieces and nephews that were such a big part of her life.

Lois was known by many for her love of auctions and yard sales. She would arrive early and stay late every Friday and/or Saturday. She also loved playing cards and could play poker with the best of them. She was known around the bowling center for her pranks and jokes for many years. Every Christmas she would load up the trunk of her car with dolls she had collected through the year and park at Walmart and give a doll to every little girl that came by. That brought her such joy and happiness.

As someone stated in the past, Lois was “one special, classy, sassy, tell it like it is woman, who was loved by many and will be missed by all.

Her family would like to thank the staff at Heritage Hall as well as Medi-hospice’s nurses, Kimberly and Marsha for the love and care she received, her “best friend” Kristi and “sweet friend” Casey were always there when she needed them.

There will be a graveside service on Thursday, December 23rd at 1:00 at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens in Christiansburg. A celebration of life will be held at a later date. All are welcome. In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make a donation to the charity of your choice.
