Craighead, William Preston

William (Bill) Preston Craighead, 56, of Christiansburg, passed away Monday, August 4, 2008, as a result of cancer.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eva Craighead, and a sister, Elizabeth (Libby) Williams. Surviving are his wife, Janet Craighead; two daughters, Amber and Becky Craighead; and a wonderful granddaughter, Madisyn; his father, Junior P. Craighead, all of Christiansburg; a sister and brother-in-law, Missy and Shane Jarvis, Winston-Salem, N.C.; numerous nieces, nephews, in-laws and devoted friends.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 7 at the Horne Funeral Service with a memorial service to follow at 7 in the Horne Funeral Chapel conducted by Mr. Jerry Hylton.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, 2840 Electric Road, Suite 106A, Roanoke, Va. 24018 in Bill’s name.
