Cox, Virginia Carol

Carol graduated from Virginia Tech with a degree in computer science. She worked many years in the Washington, DC area as a computer systems analyst for government contractors for which she received many commendations. In her worldwide travels she enjoyed camping, hiking, rafting, and scuba diving. Her interests included collecting porcelain and glass items as well as coins and antiques. She grew up in Dahlgren, Virginia where she was an active member of Oakland Baptist Church. In addition to her parents of Galax, Virginia she is survived by her sister & brother-in-law Kaye Cox-Andrews & Steve Andrews of Asheville, N.C.; brothers & sisters-in-law Ken Cox & Alice of Burmingham, Al.; Calvin Cox & Teri of Cumming, Ga.; nieces & nephews Joshua; Ben; Laura; Molly; Sean; Sam and Andrew Cox; aunts & uncle Auralea Curtis; Mary Emma Moschler; William Grubb & Carolyn. The funeral service will be held Sunday, January 24, 2010 at 3:00 pm in the First Baptist Church in Galax, Va. at 3:00 pm with Dr. Winford Hendrix officiating. Burial will follow in Felts Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 until 3:00 pm at the First Baptist Church.
